A recent introduction from a dear friend led us to discover Fibre Tibet and we’re so happy to be-in-the-know! Each shawl is handmade by Himalayan artisans and created from cashmere collected by Tibetan nomads.

Did you know that not all cashmere is created equally?
Fibre Tibet, creates shawls made from only the finest Tibetan cashmere and is collected by Tibetan nomads near Mount Kailash and woven into shawls by Tibetan, Newari and Nepali women in Kathmandu, Nepal.
Along with this, Tibetan nomad cooperatives, businesses and Himalayan artisans directly benefit from this special collection; The Tibetan nomads who collect Fibre Tibet’s cashmere are paid a higher market price.

All profits from the shawls are returned to the nomads (who live on less than $1 per day) and Himalayan weavers, generating a positive, social, environmental and economic impact and supporting the development of businesses run locally by Tibetans in the Himalayan region.
